Germany: Innovative accord reached at Volkswagen

After months of negotiations between representatives of the metalworking trade union IG Metall and the management of the German car manufacturer Volkswagen (VW), an agreement was finally reached on 28 August after a 16-hour negotiating marathon. The accord will secure production of the new VW Minivan at the company's facilities in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony.
