Metropolitan Police: A uniform approach works best

The Metropolitan Police's competency framework was launched during 2003 as part of the "Moving our profession forward" five-year strategy, and in response to Home Office guidance recommending a more consistent and uniform approach in the improvement of individual performance, career progression and personal development planning.

The Metropolitan Police ("the Met") is responsible for policing throughout London, except for the City of London and the Royal Parks.
