NAAFI looks to the future

Summary

The NAAFI, the official trading organisation of the armed forces, has been hit by a declining customer base, increased competition and the loss of key contracts. After it fell into the red to the tune of £7 million in 1996, the Government took decisive action by seconding a senior Marks & Spencer executive, Geoffrey Dart, to oversee a radical overhaul of the business.
