Pay 4 Performance at Yorkshire Water
Yorkshire Water has overhauled its
performance management system, introducing quarterly, non-consolidated merit
awards as part of a five-year pay and conditions deal.

the unions, Yorkshire Water has reviewed its performance-related pay system,
and has introduced quarterly assessments and non-consolidated bonuses, while
at the same time retaining eligibility for consolidated merit awards.

The revised arrangements
coincide with a new five-year pay agreement that guarantees all employees a
minimum cost-of-living increase until 2010.

The appraisal system, which
underpins the distribution of merit awards, has been simplified and streamlined,
with the number of performance categories reduced to three.

Yorkshire Water is part of the Kelda Group,
and is responsible for the supply and treatment of water, as well as the
management and disposal of sewage, to 4.7 million domestic and 140,000 business
customers.
