Acas publishes new guides on employee representation
Acas has published guides on trade union and non-union employee representation in the workplace that are designed to complement its forthcoming revised "Code of Practice on time off for trade union duties and activities".
The final draft of Acas's revised "Code of Practice on time off for trade union duties and activities" is awaiting parliamentary approval. It has been revised, after consultation (PDF format, 419K) (on the Acas website), to reflect the changing nature of the British workplace and the effect that this has had on time off arrangements for representatives.
The first guide deals with managing time off for union representatives, while the second deals with time off for non-union representatives.
