Age discrimination regulations laid before Parliament
The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations have been laid before Parliament
and, subject to parliamentary approval, will come into force on 1 October
2006.
The Regulations apply to employment and vocational training, and
prohibit unjustified direct or indirect age discrimination, and harassment and
victimisation on grounds of age.
ACAS is preparing good practice guidance
on the new Regulations and will publish it once they have been approved.
