  • Case of the week: Dismissal for some other substantial reason In Jefferson (Commercial) LLP v Westgate EAT/0128/12, the Employment Appeal Tribunal held that the "Acas code of practice on disciplinary and grievance procedures" did not apply in a dismissal for a breakdown in trust and confidence, but declined to make any general remarks about whether or not Acas code should normally apply to dismissals for "some other substantial reason".
