Majority of UK Muslims want time to pray at work
One year on from the introduction of legislation outlawing discrimination on the grounds of religion or belief, a new study finds that some 88% of Muslims want workplaces to accommodate Muslim prayer times as part of their working day.
This is among the findings of a survey conducted by the Guardian newspaper in association with ICM Research, looking at the attitudes of 500 British Muslims.
Forthcoming IRS research finds that UK employers are making slow progress on the new equality legislation, which was introduced in December 2003.
