New maternity calculator added to Liveflo
HR & Compliance Centre Liveflo has been enhanced by the addition of a new calculator enabling the calculation of an employee's statutory maternity pay. Statutory maternity pay is payable for up to 39 weeks. The first six weeks are payable at 90% of the employee's average earnings. The remaining 33 weeks are paid at the flat rate in force at the time (this has recently risen to £128.73), or at 90% of the employee's average earnings where this figure is less than the flat rate.
The new calculator, along with four existing calculators to work out various other elements of maternity leave and pay, can be found in the relevant steps in the Maternity leave and pay flowchart. The maternity calculators are as follows:
- Statutory official maternity notification calculator Use this calculator to give an employee an indication of by when she must provide her official maternity notification, and the earliest she can start her maternity leave.
- Additional maternity leave end date calculator Use this calculator to work out the end date of an employee's additional maternity leave.
- Statutory maternity pay service eligibility calculator Use this calculator to ascertain if a pregnant employee has sufficient continuous service to qualify for statutory maternity pay.
- Statutory maternity pay earnings eligibility calculator If the employee is paid either weekly or monthly, use this calculator to ascertain if she earns enough to receive statutory maternity pay.
- Statutory maternity pay calculator Where an employee qualifies for statutory maternity pay, use this to calculate her entitlement.
