New model redundancy letters
The HR & Compliance Centre policies and documents section has been enhanced by the addition of a model letter informing an employee told that his or her job was at risk of redundancy that the job is now safe and a letter offering a job to an employee who has left the company because of redundancy.
- Letter informing employee told that job was at risk of redundancy that job is now safe Use this model letter when your redundancy consultation and selection procedure has closed to inform employees no longer at risk of redundancy that their jobs will remain.
- Letter offering a job to an employee who has left the company because of redundancy Use this model letter when you wish to offer a new position to an employee who has previously been made redundant and has finished working his or her notice period.
Also
Letter withdrawing notice of redundancy because of a change in circumstances Use this model letter to request that an employee agree to withdrawal of a notice of redundancy due to a change in circumstances that takes place while he or she is working out his or her notice period. The change in circumstances might be the acquisition of a new business contract or an upturn in work such that the employee no longer needs to be made redundant.
The HR & Compliance Centre frequently asked questions section on redundancy rights answers questions on the situation where an employee who has been made redundant is re-employed:
- What happens to an employee's continuity of service if he or she is made redundant and then reinstated?
- Is an employer obliged to wait a certain period of time before re-employing an employee who was dismissed for redundancy?
- Can an employee who is re-employed after having been made redundant retain his or her statutory redundancy pay?
