October 1: Holiday entitlement increases to 4.8 weeks
The Working Time (Amendment) Regulations 2007 increase the statutory minimum holiday entitlement from four weeks to 4.8 weeks on 1 October 2007.
This is the first of two increases in holiday entitlement, with the increase from 4.8 weeks to 5.6 weeks taking effect on 1 April 2009.
