International - introduction video transcript

I’m pleased to announce the launch of another exciting new addition to the HR & Compliance Centre service. Welcome to International.

If you are a UK employer with staff based outside the United Kingdom, our new service makes it easy for you to comply with employment law in the countries where you operate.

HR & Compliance Centre has long been recognised by our customers as the best, most up to date, authoritative and easy-to-use source for UK employment law compliance. Now we are bringing that same quality, reliability and value to the global arena, with International.

In this short video I am going to show you how it works.

At the core of our new service is a new chapter of the HR & Compliance Centre employment law reference manual, which is the backbone of the existing, award-winning UK service.

You can access the reference manual in the normal way, by clicking the grey “Employment Law” button on the main navigation, followed by the blue “Reference Manual” button.

Once you have opened the reference manual, you will see the new “International” button towards the end of the list. Just click this button to open the international chapter.

You can also open the international chapter via the new “International” button, on the main navigation. From the international home page, just click the link inside the “country guides” box to open the international chapter.

As you can see, within the international chapter, each country has its own section. Countries covered include France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands and Poland, with new countries being added regularly.

We are now looking at the guide for France, but all the country guides are laid out in exactly the same user-friendly way, setting out the key information you need to know about employment in each country, including:

- recruitment and selection
- pay and benefits
- employment rights
- contracts of employment
- training and development
- equal opportunities
- health and safety
- trade unions and industrial relations

The information is written by experts on the employment situation in each country and kept regularly up to date.

It is commissioned and edited by the team behind European Employment Review, a leading publication in the field of international HR for more than 25 years, now part of the HR & Compliance Centre Group. This is your guarantee of quality and reliability.

But it doesn’t stop there. Subscribers to International also receive a monthly email update newsletter, reporting on key employment-related developments across more than 30 countries worldwide and the European Union.

And you have access to all those reports, along with the guides, via the new international home page on HR & Compliance Centre.

To see summaries of the latest reports on each country, simply click a marker on the map – then click the link to see the full report.

So there you have it. International: authoritative and up-to-date country guides, timely reports and email alerts – the perfect resource for any UK employer with staff overseas.
