- nominal award against individual
Aciro v (1) Mitie Cleaning (South East) Ltd (2) Mr Bolade Akinbohun 11 February 2004; case no.2201632/03 (full facts)
Considering liability, the tribunal said: "The first respondent indicated that they were prepared to meet in full any award made against both them and the second respondent, and the applicant indicated that her preference would be that the tribunal made what she deemed to be a nominal award against the second respondent to indicate a decree of disapprobation of the seriousness of the harassment that the applicant had suffered at the second respondent's hands." The tribunal made the first respondent liable for £10,500 for injury to feelings and the second respondent liable for £1,500 for injury to feelings.
