How can I refine my search results?
Where you have searched across the entire site, you can use the "Refine search results" panel on the left side of the search results page to refine your search by resource type and/or topic.
For example, if you have searched for [redundancy pay] but are predominantly interested in reading about other organisations' approach to calculating redundancy pay, you might wish to refine your search by resource type, selecting "Survey analysis". If, however, you wish to locate a model letter or policy concerned with redundancy pay, you will want to select "Policies and procedures".
You might also wish to refine by topic. For example, refining the above search by End of employment > Dismissal > Redundancy > Redundancy payments would allow you to drill down to those resources mainly or substantively concerned with the subject of redundancy payments, so categorised under that specific topic.
In addition to searching across the whole site, you can also search from within a particular resource type or topic, refining the results as necessary. You can also expand such a search across the entire site.
