Organisation design: An end-to-end organisation design journey

Author: Lilian Duckart, a board member of the European Organisation Design Forum and founder of From To, Partners, an organisation design practice dedicated to enabling organisations turn AI vision into impact.

Overview

Organisation design is increasingly recognised as a critical business capability for translating strategy into execution and driving organisational success. This series of Leading practice guides provides a comprehensive, practice-led introduction to organisation design and sets out what an effective organisation design journey looks like.

Here, we present the core components of an organisation design process across three broad stages: discovery, design and delivery. While individual practitioners may use different terminology and may divide these stages into four, five or even six steps, there is broad agreement within the organisation design community on the essential activities required for a complete end-to-end process.
