Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 comes into force
Implementation date: 2 July 1999
The Act amends the Employment Rights Act 1996 to
give protection against victimisation and dismissal to workers (irrespective of
age or length of service) who 'blow the whistle' on their employers'
fraudulent, criminal or dangerous activities. The Act can be viewed on the OPSI website.
