Spain: Deal reached on redundancy terms for staff of failed travel agency

Management and workers' representatives signed an agreement in July 2010 on redundancy terms for the entire workforce of Viaje Marsans, an insolvent Spanish travel agency.

Viaje Marsans, one of Spain's largest travel agents with more than 500 agencies and 1,450 employees, ran into increasing financial difficulties in late 2009, with mounting debts leading to the closure of an airline it owned, Air Comet.
