Employers "woefully ignorant" of DC pension charges
Only one-third of employers with defined-contribution (DC) pension plans are aware that their members pay any charges to those plans, according to research conducted for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The study, which follows on from research undertaken in 2009, was based on interviews with 719 trust-based DC schemes and 515 contract-based schemes, and a survey of 10 large (by market share) contract-based pension providers.
