Technical amendments to employment law following the UK's exit from the EU take effect
Implementation date: 31 December 2020
The Government introduces legislation to ensure that employment laws continue to operate effectively after the Brexit transition (implementation) period, which ended on 31 December 2020. The legislation makes minor technical changes, including amending and removing inappropriate language and references.
The regulations are:
- Employment Rights (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (SI 2019/535);
- Employment Rights (Amendment) (EU Exit) (No.2) Regulations 2019 (SI 2019/536);
- Insolvency (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (SI 2019/146);
- Employment Rights (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (SI 2019/537); and
- Employment Rights (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) (EU Exit) (No.2) Regulations 2019 (SI 2019/538).
