Global research study: Pay equity and transparency
Author: Brightmine Editorial Team
Organisations with pay equity and transparency have an advantage over those without by attracting and retaining top talent and building collaborative, inclusive and high-performing cultures. Yet, according to our seminal Pay Equity and Transparency Research, conducted in 2023 in collaboration with Executive Networks - a senior HR leader peer community for Global 1000 organisations - progress is slow. Moreover, the study revealed strikingly different perspectives between senior leaders and employees and exposed the notion that treating pay equity as a checkbox exercise for compliance hidden from employees leaves organisations under-performing and employees disenchanted.
More than 1,000 global senior HR and business leaders and employees participated from the US and the UK, representing multiple generations, gender identities, ethnicities and races.
Their survey responses and comments exposed five key findings (Figure 1).
