Dyke & Others v Hereford & Worcester County Council [1989] ICR 800 (0 other reports)
In Dyke and others v Hereford and Worcester County Council the EAT confirms that it was not unfair for a local education authority to dismiss three lecturers for redundancy without reference to their college's governors, even though their lecturers' contracts of employment contemplated that the governors would decide whether to dismiss. The Authority was entitled to exercise its residual power to dismiss because the situation had implications which went beyond the college involved.
