Summary
- Direct and indirect discrimination in recruitment and selection is prohibited on certain specified grounds. (See Discrimination)
- Employers are specifically prohibited from disseminating certain specified information on job vacancies. (See Advertising vacancies)
- At the request of an unsuccessful applicant, the employer must provide the reason for not employing him or her in writing. (See Selection)
- Employers are under no obligation to provide successful applicants with a job offer. (See Job offers)
- The minimum age at which a person can sign an employment contract is generally 16 years. (See Young people and children)
- Foreign nationals need to obtain a work permit or work patent before starting employment in the Russian Federation. (See Foreign nationals)
- Employers with 100 or more employees must employ a certain proportion of people with disabilities or be liable to pay a fine. (See Employment quota for people with disabilities)
- On recruitment, the employee must provide the employer with a range of documents. (See Formalities)
