Early conciliation period increases from six to 12 weeks

Implementation date: 1 December 2025

The early conciliation period is increased from six to 12 weeks by the Employment Tribunals (Early Conciliation: Exemptions and Rules of Procedure) (Amendment) Regulations 2025.

During the early conciliation period, Acas seeks to promote a settlement between parties, to avoid an employment tribunal claim.

The extended period applies where the early conciliation form is submitted to Acas on or after 1 December 2025.
