European Company Statute adopted
After more than 30 years of debate, the Regulation establishing a European Company and its accompanying Directive governing worker involvement were finally adopted at the employment and social policy Council held on 8 October.
The adoption of the Regulation and Directive follows agreement on compromise texts reached by the Council on 20 December 2000.
