ACAS to the rescue
Summary
In the second part of our special issue on conciliation, mediation and arbitration, we focus on the individual conciliation service offered to both parties by ACAS when an application is made to an employment tribunal. Such conciliation comprises by far the largest part of the ACAS workload: a record 165,000 complaints were referred to the service for conciliation in the year to spring 2000.
