Austria: Union membership falls
Figures published by the Austrian Trade Union Confederation (ÖGB) show that in 2006 its membership fell by 4.75%, or 63,000 members, to 1,272,000. This was a significantly greater fall than during the previous year, when the ÖGB lost 22,500 members.
