Counting the cost of sickness absence
Employers in the UK are taking more notice of sickness absence, and have become noticeably more concerned to influence levels in their own workforce in the past five years by introducing new absence policies and procedures. As a result, the headline rate of absence has fallen recently to about 7.8 days a year per employee.
