Denmark: Settlement in manufacturing
On 25 February 2007, a deal was reached in negotiations for a new collective agreement covering around 240,000 employees in manufacturing. The three-year settlement will result in an overall increase in wage costs of 4% per year and should set the benchmark for the other sectors involved in this spring's bargaining round, which includes the private sector area covered by the Confederation of Danish Trade Unions (LO) and the Confederation of Danish Employers (DA), whose member companies employ some 600,000 workers (Denmark: Private sector bargaining gets under way).
