Equal value update 2006

Thousands of women working in local government and the NHS have received equal value settlements worth millions of pounds since our last update and the number of equal value pay claims lodged in recent years has risen sharply. It seems that much of this increase has been fuelled by the arrival of the no-win, no-fee lawyer on the equal pay scene rather than the new regime for dealing with equal value complaints that came into force on 1 October 2004.
