EU Commission: Report finds women face persistent 'gender gaps'

The European Commission’s annual report on equality between women and men, published on 23 January 2008, finds that women’s employment is increasing across the EU but that women still face major “gender gaps” in areas such as pay, labour market segregation and work-life balance.

The report (PDF format, 143K) (on the commission website) will be submitted to the Spring European Council summit in March 2008.
