EU Commission: Undeclared work targeted

In October 2007, the European Commission proposed new action to tackle undeclared work across Europe, with the latest figures indicating that 5% of EU workers admit to receiving "cash-in-hand" wages.

Undeclared work is defined by the commission as paid activities that are lawful in themselves but are not declared to the public authorities for tax and social security purposes.
