Flexible working - third DTI report

The third work-life balance employee survey, conducted on behalf of the DTI in 2006, finds that around four in five requests by employees to work flexibly are fully or partially accepted by employers.

KEY POINTS

  • The right for parents of young children to request flexible working, introduced in 2003, appears to have benefited all groups of workers, with 90% of respondents in the DTI's latest work-life balance survey saying that they have access to flexible working arrangements.
