Insurers ignore good employer safety performance

Manufacturing companies that improve their management of health and safety are not seeing any reduction in insurance premiums, according to a leading manufacturers' organisation1.

An EEF survey of 800 manufacturing companies of all sizes across the UK shows that while the market for employers' liability compulsory insurance (ELCI) has softened over the past two years, premiums for businesses have continued to rise.
