Ireland: Increase in working days lost to occupational illness and injuries in the past five years

According to the annual report of the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), published on 24 June 2008, the number of working days lost through work-related injury and illness has been increasing steadily since 2003, and since 2004 illness has accounted for more days lost than injury.

The HSA has found little change in the annual work-related injury rate since 2003.
