Older workers are in good shape

Older workers are not less healthy and do not take more sick leave than other employees, according to a report¹ from the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) which dispels common myths surrounding the employability of older people.

The report was commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions and the Age Partnership Group as part of the government's commitment to provide employers with practical information on age diversity in the context of impending legislation on age discrimination in work and training.
