Pension scheme membership continues to fall

The latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) survey of occupational pension schemes reveals that the number of active members in schemes continued to decline in 2011. Figures show that the active membership of defined-benefit (DB) schemes has fallen by nearly half since 2005. We examine the survey's main findings.
