Social partners: Implementing the telework agreement

In October 2006, the central EU-level social partner organisations presented a joint report on the implementation at national level of their July 2002 agreement on telework.

The telework accord (EC: Telework agreement breaks new ground) was the first such cross-sector European agreement that was to be implemented (by July 2005) by the member organisations of the signatories - the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), the Union of Industrial and Employers' Confederations of Europe (Unice)/European Association of Craft, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (Ueapme) and the European Centre of Enterprises with Public Participation and of Enterprises of General Economic Interest (Ceep) - rather than by means of an EU Directive.
