Sweden: Few strikes in 2006

According to figures recently issued by the National Mediation Office, 1,971 working days were lost due to industrial action in 2006. This is a very low figure in historical terms and seems to confirm a trend whereby years without a major sectoral collective bargaining round now see very low levels of industrial conflict (the last big bargaining round was in 2004).
