Sweden: Union membership falls
Recently released figures indicate that overall trade union membership fell in 2006, despite the fact that employment is increasing.
The 15 trade unions affiliated to the blue-collar Swedish Confederation of Trade Unions had a total of 1,803,800 members at the end of 2006, a drop of 1.5% from the previous year.
