Testing times for selectors
Fear of recruiting unsuitable candidates has prompted many employers to turn to psychometric testing to improve their selection practices.
More and more employers have introduced testing in the selection process as evidence mounts that, if used properly, tests can minimise the risks of making a poor recruitment decision.
Tests can also help recruiters identify those candidates best able to adapt to the needs of a rapidly changing business environment, while computer-based systems are making testing more cost-effective.
Few organisations make selection decisions based solely on the results of tests, although they can carry more weight when there is little to choose between candidates. |
