There is value in job evaluation

Summary

An IRS survey of 145 organisations, carried out in summer 1998, reveals that three-quarters of the employers polled use formal job evaluation for at least some jobs. This overall proportion is unchanged since we conducted a similar survey in 1993 - leading us to conclude that, contrary to the expectations of some commentators, there has been no widespread retreat from job evaluation.
