Invite the employee to an appeal hearing regarding a statutory request in relation to study or training
Key points
Where an employer rejects, in full or in part, an employee's statutory request in relation to study or training, it must give the employee the right to appeal the decision.
The relevant legislation sets out the time frame within which the employee must submit an appeal and within which the employer must hear the appeal and notify the employee of the outcome.
The letter inviting the employee to the appeal hearing should set out the employee's right to be accompanied at the meeting.
