When to use this model settlement agreement

Use this model agreement on the termination of employment of a current employee when you want to prevent them from issuing proceedings in relation to infringement of their statutory employment rights. It is particularly suitable for senior employees, including senior employees who are directors.

We also provide a covering letter when an employee is to sign a settlement agreement - see Letter to accompany settlement agreement. Written confirmation that the employee has been given independent advice before entering into the settlement agreement is included as an Appendix at the end of this agreement.
