Rigby v Ferodo Ltd [1987] IRLR 516 HL (0 other reports)
In Rigby v Ferodo Ltd 15.10.87 House of Lords the House of Lords confirms that employees whose wages are reduced without their consent are entitled to claim the full amount of their continuing loss, and are not limited to a claim for the loss suffered during their notice period. The Lords decline the opportunity to consider whether a wrongful dismissal unilaterally terminates an employment contract, but, leaving the cases of outright dismissal or walk-out aside, hold that an unaccepted repudiation does not terminate an employment contract.
