Summary
- Part-time workers must not be treated less favourably than comparable full-time workers unless the employer can justify such less favourable treatment. (See Overview and Part-time Workers (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2000)
- Part-time workers have the right not to be treated less favourably in matters relating to, for example, pay, holiday and holiday pay, selection for redundancy and access to pension schemes. - Part-time workers who consider that they have been discriminated against may request a written statement from their employers explaining the reasons for any discriminatory treatment. (See Written statement of reasons for less favourable treatment)
