Redundancy rights: local authority

Summary
- Employees who are aged over 55 and who are made redundant may be entitled to an immediate payment of pension benefits. (See Payment of pension)
- Redundancy payments in local government are affected by the Redundancy Payments (Continuity of Employment in Local Government, etc) Modification Order 1999 (SI 1999/2277). (See Effect of the "Modification Order")
