Scotland
Working time
The law on: hours of work, rest breaks, rest periods, holidays and holiday pay that applies in England and Wales extends to Scotland.
Scotland has nine bank and public holidays compared with eight in England and Wales (and not all of the dates are the same). An additional bank holiday is provided by the St Andrew's Day Bank Holiday (Scotland) Act 2007, which gives banks and other organisations the power to close on St Andrew's Day (30 November), although they are not compelled to.
