Summary
- Discrimination is prohibited in access to employment on various grounds. (See Discrimination)
- Job advertisements must not indicate an intention to discriminate on any of the prohibited grounds. (See Advertising vacancies)
- Selection criteria must be clear, relevant to the job, justifiable and non-discriminatory, and selection procedures must comply with data protection legislation. (See Selection)
- If an employer offers a candidate employment, either orally or in writing, and the candidate accepts the offer, a binding employment contract is generally formed. (See Job offers)
- The minimum age for "regular" employment is 16, although there are special rules regarding anyone under the age of 18. (See Young people and children)
