Minimum service levels during strikes to be repealed

Implementation date: To be confirmed

The Government has confirmed that the proposed Employment Rights Bill will include provisions to repeal the Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Act 2023, which provides for minimum service levels to be in place during any period of strike action in certain services.

The Government's policy paper states that amendments made by the Act to the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 will be reversed with the minimum service regulations lapsing once the Employment Rights Bill has received Royal Assent.
