Requirement for doctor's signature on fit notes removed

The Social Security (Medical Evidence) and Statutory Sick Pay (Medical Evidence) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 Regulations (SI 2022/298) reverse the requirement for fit notes to be completed in ink or another indelible substance, and the need for the fit note to be signed in ink by the issuing doctor. The Regulations also provide a new version of the fit note, which can be used in addition to the existing version.
